The Construct

Here we present a concept for empathic housing units for human beings (empathic in the sense of recognizing and caring for opinions and emotions), which use the existing infrastructure (like police, fire department, health care) as much as it makes sense. WGBOOME expressively supports such prospective facilities for adapting human being to their environment.

Theoretical Concept

  • The grey containment (Metacortex) is fire-proof, noise-proof, explosion-proof and connected to utility units via an interface. There are habitate Metacortexes and special Metacortexes (e. g.: utility, recreation (outdoor-like, roller-coaster-like, clown-like), hospital, hygiene, ...)
  • The blue pipes transport food and fresh, conditioned air; the green pipes transport used air and rubbish.
  • The red containments (Can) are instrinsic fire-proof, noise-proff and explosion-proof and connected to the blue and green pipes. They are adapted to human anatomy and soft and have an entertainment system (a color computer display with high resolution at the ceiling, a keyboard-mouse-combination for each hand, sound system). The dimensions are minimal but comfortable for the user. There is at most one user per Can. The Cans are stacked in silos. The relocation from one Can to another (e. g. due to cleaning) can be done in special areas. Cleaning, grievance-management and other operations will be done automatically as far as possible.
  • The grey covers around the red Cans are used for further isolation. These covers can be opened and closed in order to relocate a Can.
  • The yellow transportation facilities are used for relocating Cans, which is necessary for maintenance of certain Cans, for cleaning a user, for health care or recreation... The relocation is done as fast as possible according to the actual usage profile, where efficient usage of existing resources is respected for maximum environmental friendliness and economic advantages.
Most important is the minimization of potentially traumatic contact to other humans, where obviously voluntary participation in personal enhancement measurements is not prohibited, but closely monitored and regulated via automatic psychological test procedures.

The topological growth of the metacortexes is controlled by stochastical algorithms that optimize convenience and safety especially in case of partial failure.

The advantages come obviously from high security (especially the attempts to avoid "accidents"), energy efficiency (due to high human body density and consequently high energy output (like birds on a tree in winter); but also due to heat exchanger (esp. heat pumps) in the air conditioners but also in other utility devices), inherent safety in re infectious diseases, unexcelled comfort, compromise-less considerateness on the human nature and excellent cost-space-efficiency.

There are no known disadvantages in comparison to the status quo.

For population growth no cohabitation seems to be necessary as long as people starve outside.

In the beginning financing could be done via highly qualified services, which do not need immediate contact to other people (e. g.: information technology). For entertainment games and professional movies (like seen in cinemas (The Matrix) or in television (Star Trek TV-series)) and riddles can be used. The development of The Construct should target the independance and autarky of The Construct by reaching the goal of fully-automatic operation; this should be accomplished by the inhabitants themselfes in order to avoid reproaches about parasitic behavioural structures.

Here we see two short animations about a CAN.
